World Art Day

Riverside Bridge School was keen to celebrate World Art Day on 19th April which was chosen to honour the birthday of the famous Leonardo da Vinci.  Da Vinci represents tolerance, world peace, freedom of expression and multiculturalism.  The pupils were keen to display their productive artistic and creative skills using a variety of resources to create their art work.  The pupils had the chance to practise their fine motor skills using paint daubers, brushes and scissors as well as their creative colouring and painting skills.  There was an abundance of ‘mini earths’ created by the Seeds pupils who enjoyed the feel of paint on their hands and learnt the colours and shape of the earth.  The Branch pupils created mobile peace dove’s, including writing peace messages.  They relished folding paper for wings, used their honed cutting skills to cut out a dove shape and used their colouring skills for the leaves.  The Leaf and Accreditation pupils designed amazing protest signs and were particularly passionate about climate change as well as what matters to them.  There was beautifully created individual art work as well as mindful pictures coloured using felts and pencils.  It was a magical art experience for all.
