Children’s Book Week 2022

To celebrate Children’s Book Week 2022, Riverside Bridge School hosted their first ever Bedtime Stories event.
On Friday 11th November all pupils and staff were given the choice of wearing their PJs or a onesie to school or have one to change into for the bedtime stories and bring a pair of slippers, a favourite cuddly toy and a dresssing gown if they wished. A
On this day, the lesson 5 for the whole school was a time for a ‘bedtime story’, including DEAR time.
For that that 1 hour slot, all pupils and staff settled down to hear the teachers read a series of lovely, fun, exciting stories for ‘bedtime stories’.
During this time, the pupils were also served cookies and milk/hot chocolate to enjoy while they were listening to the stories.
On that Friday, all pupils had a special bedtime story lesson, where they settled down with some milk and cookies (provided by the school) and listened to some lovely stories read by their teacher.

Bedtime Stories for home

Throughout that week, each day the school also released one or two ‘bedtime stories’ on their social media pages, that parents and carers could share with their children at bedtime. Click on the stories below to hear the stories again.

#howdoyoubook?

The slogan for Children’s Book Week 2022 was ‘Where do you book?’.
The staff at Riverside Bridge School had the opportunity to share all of the unusual places where they like to read.
