Four year 12 students who received the Colin Pond scholarship for GCSE achievement were given a fantastic opportunity to visit UCL. This opportunity allowed our students to experience what it’s really like to be studying and being part of a prestigious university, ranked 7th in the world.
The students were given guidance on the UCAS application process, the importance of writing the ‘perfect’ personal statement and selecting the right degree. This was followed by the tour of the campus by the student ambassadors. Our students also had an opportunity to experience first-hand a university lecture by one of the UCL lecturers.
This opportunity to visit UCL was very valuable for the students as the workshops on the UCAS application process and personal statements allowed our students to gain a deeper understanding of applying to a competitive university and how to write the perfect personal statement. The taster lectures showcased and provided the perfect opportunity for our students to experience an insight into the breadth and depth of study that will be expected of them.
Well done to them all!
