On the morning of 2nd March, BBC London came to Riverside School to interview parents and students regarding Barking Riverside. The area is due to become a new NHS Health Town. It will be one of only 10 towns in the country and the only one in London. Pupils were questioned about health and fitness and how healthy they though the area was. They were then asked what they think could be changed to make the area even more healthy and enjoyable in the future. Ideas ranged from less fast food restaurants, to more gyms and sporting facilities and safer parks. The interview was broadcast live on the Vanessa Feltz show at 7:15 and 8:15am and will be online to listen to again.
