Dear Parent /Carer,
As we are steadily approaching the end of term I would just like to take this opportunity to gently remind you that Sports Day will be taking place on Wednesday 15th July. It will be a whole day event in which pupils are required to arrive at Mayesbrook Park by 8:40am at the latest as per a normal school day. There will be staff present at Mayesbrook Park from 7:30am onwards to supervise pupils.
Upon arrival, pupils should head to the athletics track where they will be registered by their form tutor. Students must arrive in full Riverside School PE kit. The day will finish at 3pm, as per the usual school day and pupils will be required to make the necessary arrangements to get home.
All students must bring a packed lunch and any snacks with them. Free school meal students will be provided with a packed lunch but can also bring their own snacks if necessary. All students will be expected to compete in at least one event for their inter-house team. Therefore, it is highly recommended that all pupils bring sufficient fluids for throughout the day. There is no shelter at the venue so please ensure that your child has appropriate additional clothing and/or sunscreen for the unpredictable British weather.
As pupils are required to make their own way to and from the venue, the reverse of this letter details some bus routes that can be taken to ensure pupils successfully arrive at the venue. Should your child have an further questions, make sure they contact a member of the PE department.
If your child has not yet returned their reply slip, please complete the form below. This must be handed in to student services by Wednesday 8th July.
Yours sincerely
Miss France
Head of PE
