Hockey Champions
Students from year 7 and 8 took part in Riverside’s first ever hockey fixture at Jo Richardson school and came away with medals for both the boys and the girls. In the first game for the boys, Tayef dribbled from one end of the pitch to the other beating all defenders in his way to score an incredible goal. In the final game of the boys tournament, Amaan made a terrific save to keep the boys in the game and then a last gasp goal from Ibrahim secured gold medals for the boys!!! An excellent start for Riverside hockey. The girls battled well in all of their games, narrowly missing out on wins on numerous occasions but they came away with bronze medals. All pupils should be extremely proud of their efforts and the way in which they represented the school and hopefully this is the first of many hockey successes!!
