“On Monday 10th November, Riverside PE department offered a very special opportunity for 20 lucky students to attend the World ATP Tour Finals at the O2. During the evening students witnessed World Number 1 and eventual tournament winner, Novak Djokovic beat Marian Cilic in a thrilling encounter with Djokovic producing some of his finest Tennis to date. Along with this, students had the privilage of watching the World Number 1 doubles pairing, Michael Bryan and Robert Bryan against Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo as they narrowly lost to the newcomers.
A great evening was had by all with one member of the public stating how “we sat behind a group of pupils from your school at the O2 Arena this evening watching the ATP Tennis and I was very impressed with how well behaved they all were throughout. Engaged and enthusiastic without being overly boisterous. They were a credit to the school and their teachers and should be congratulated.”
