Year 10 and 13 had a very successful trip exploring how artists portray identity within art from the Tudor period to contemporary art.
The students visited the new exhibitions focusing on identity at the National Portrait Gallery, where they have been praised for their conduct and engagement by every member of staff they came in contact with.
The students selected art of interest to them and drew from observation, gaining valuable inspiration and context for their upcoming identity project.
They then travelled to the Tate Modern, where the students interacted with contemporary art for the first time.
It was great to see students interacting with challenging works and questioning conceptual art and the context surrounding each piece.
“I was really proud of the Riverside art cohort and look forward to immersing them in future gallery trips.” Ms Allwright
