BASKETBALL ACADEMY

Overview

Riverside School have partnered with Future Generation Global (FG) to deliver an Elite Basketball Academy programme for girls and boys aged 16-19. Future Generation have developed a programme that offers an exceptional basketball coaching experience for the young people involved with the goal of developing student athletes to be amongst the best talent in the UK.  Our mission is to create a legacy of success and national recognition for Riverside Sixth Form.

Basketball Recruitment

We view recruitment as a critical activity, and we are always on the lookout for players who have the potential and mental strength to become elite level basketball players. Our recruitment team are active throughout the season, visiting National League and CBL games to find the best talent at under 16 level ready to make the step up to college academy. We also run half term and Summer basketball camps, focusing on individual skills, fitness workouts & strength and conditioning.  RBA is also linked to Future Generation Global basketball club based at Riverside Campus and offers National league competitions for D3, U18 & U16 men & women teams.

Format of the Basketball Academy

All players have access to training every day. Content is varied and includes individual sessions focused on your personal skill development and team sessions emphasising tactical improvement. All games will be recorded and reviewed in performance and statistical analysis sessions through Crossover to improve your game. Next season Riverside Basketball Academy have entered the ABL – The Academy Basketball League, Under 17s and Under 19s England Schools Basketball competition and the Association of Colleges regional competition.

Through our unique partnership with Future Generation, our programme is led and delivered by Coach L who brings a wealth of experience from the professional game having been both a pro player and coach at the very highest level. This means that all sessions, games and analysis will be of the very highest standard and aligned with the professional pathway and approach as much as possible.
