A trip to Kings College London for a Medical Activity Day

On Wednesday 20th June, 39 students from year 10 went to Kings College London for a medical activity day. They were lucky enough to be shown around the campus and have lots of interactive sessions for different clinical skills. Some of the highlights included:

  • Learning about the effects of alcohol and the dangers of completing activities under the influence of alcohol. Note the drunk goggles!

  • Learning about the effects of diet and finding out some surprising facts about the foods we are eating:

  • Having a go at some tricky keyhole surgery!

  • The fine art of stitching somebody back up

  • Life-saving CPR

Overall it was a really fun and well organised event with the students asking great questions. Riverside looks forward to sending lots of students off to be our future doctors and nurses!
