It is vitally important to us that our students have more to offer than just their A Levels when applying to university. Our enrichment programme ensures that all students develop new skills and provides them with a balanced education and an impressive curriculum vitae.
All students have a timetabled enrichment session and physical activity session every Wednesday afternoon. Activities are regularly updated to reflect student demand, with the choice currently including:
Duke of Edinburgh
Helping students within lessons
Sutton Trust summer school
Duke of Edinburgh Silver or Gold Award – opportunity to advance skills already gained on expeditions for the Bronze Award.
University and Apprenticeship Advice, Guidance and Support – we provide time and expertise to support students as they research and plan for their post 18 options. With partners in elite universities we support students to explore their options and maximise their potential to follow their chosen path.
Sport/ Fitness activities – For at least one hour per week students are able to take part in a sport or fitness activity of their choice. This hour is part of each student’s timetable and popular activities include: basketball, football, fitness and dance.
Department Volunteering – students can assist a department by supporting a lesson, club on a weekly basis.
First Give – working with others to raise money for a local charity of their choice and to compete against schools in the partnership to receive extra funding for their charity.
