The final trip (for this academic year) to Saatchi Gallery was an absolute success. Year 9 GCSE Art Students enjoyed a day viewing their final art work exhibited in the gallery in a private view.
As part of the Jack Petchey Start Programme, working alongside with Children and the Arts and artists from Saatchi Gallery, our students have enjoyed and worked on a plethora of activities, creating artwork on the theme of Inclusion. The final exhibition included work from all of students and ranged from paper airplanes and clouds to animation, clay sculptures, chalk paintings, mixed media collage and interactive media.
The education team, artists and most importantly, our brilliant year 9 artists were so very proud of the work they created in conjunction with other schools. The exhibition is open to the general public. Our students artwork is exhibited on the second floor of the building in the education suite of galleries. Mr Charles Saatchi is understood to have said: [about our students’ work] “loved it”.
Well done, Year 9. We are very proud of your achievements.
