On Monday 9th March, Riverside’s GCSE Geographers travelled to Epping Forest to conduct fieldwork for their controlled assessment; a project worth 25% of their GCSE grade. Students tracked Loughton Brook from deep inside Epping Forest right the way through Loughton, completing surveys on the sustainability of different flood defence strategies to reduce the likelihood of flooding. Students also conducted questionnaires where they maturely and politely asked members of the public for their perceptions of Loughton’s flood defences.
The fieldwork was conducted to a high standard and students are well placed for complete their analysis stage for their controlled assessment.
