22, year 8 students competed in the London regional stage of the England Handball Schools competition.
The boys opened their campaign with a 4-3 victory against Harris Academy. However, in the closing seconds of the game Dom, an influential player, suffered an arm injury. The boys remained positive entering the next two games but they were narrowly defeated by two experienced handball teams, Seven Kings and Woolwich. The boys sadly did not qualify for the next stage of the competition, missing out by a minute goal difference. Hopefully next year with months of training under their belts they will come back fighting strong (by Okechukwu Atuanya)
With two previous victories against local rivals All Saints the girls went into the first game with the upper hand and confidence, winning the game 8-4, with Andreya netting all 8 goals. Going into the next two games unaware of the oppositions ability the girls were nervous but remained focused on the task ahead. The girls won these games with scores of 5-0 and 8-3 against Erith and Harris Academy. These 3 victories meant the girls were undefeated and qualify for the South East England finals (by Andreya Ezekiel-Meade)
