Climate Kick-Start Prize Winner

We are very proud of our pupils at Riverside Bridge School.  The drive they show to continuously improve the world we live in is remarkable and they relentlessly ensure we are as ‘green’ as we can be in school and help our climate from irreparable damage.

On the day where the COP26 was focussed on young people’s voices and actions on climate change, this event was extremely special to us at Riverside Bridge School.

Through their collaboration with the Barking Food Forest Team, they keep promoting eco-friendly planting of foods, plants and material use and their successful bid will ensure renewable and self-sustainable systems such as solar irrigation, rainwater harvesting, renewable energy system and a durable greenhouse are put in place in our edible garden and the Barking Food Forest.

Our pupils , alongside students from Young Citizens Action Group, coordinated by Thames Ward community project enjoyed the awards ceremony. They were able to explain why climate change means so much to them and their hope is that other schools and community in the local and wider areas will take inspiration from Riverside Bridge School. We are so proud of their efforts and hard work to improve our environment.
